‘Flatulent’ Is How NY Post Describes Villanova Prof’s Politico Article That Criticizes Trump SCOTUS Pick

On Thursday (September 24), two days before President Trump made it official that Amy Coney Barrett was his choice to replace the late Ruth Bader Ginsberg on the Supreme Court, Politico published an opinion piece by Massimo Faggioli, a Theology and Religious Studies Professor at Villanova. Faggioli described Barrett as “life-long adherent of the People of Praise, a charismatic Christian group with a highly authoritarian internal structure.”

Massimo Faggioli's hit piece on @politico against #ACB has been "corrected" by the editor... The correction basically leaves him with no arguments. I am not a fan of Faggioli, but still makes me sad to see him making a fool of himself:https://t.co/EimnZIN2Qm

Later on September 24, Sohrab Ahmari, writing the New York Post; slammed Faggioli’s article, claiming that it contained three egregious errors. Ahmari wrote, that the “Community Covenant” that Barrett signed “is no secret.” Ahmari also disputed Faggioli’s claim that Barrett, as a member of the community, had taken a “vow of obedience. Lastly, Ahmari took issue with Faggioli’s claim that Pope Francis disdains Barrett’s group.
