Ardmore Mask Tip Story Has Gone Viral, International
In case your wifi’s been down for a while, two guys walked into a bar last week in Ardmore (John Henry’s), and stiffed the waitress. When they paid the bill, they wrote the word MASK on the credit card slip, where you ordinarily write an amount for the tip.
By Wednesday (October 7) the story had found its way onto NBC10, 6ABC and FOX29. Affiliates of the networks in other cities were also carrying the story, including FOX5 in D.C. and New York and ABC30 in Fresno. The NBC affilitate in Tampa had translated the story into Spanish.
The next day both the New York Post and the Daily News had the story, as did TheHill.com and NBCnews.com.
And now l’affaire du masque is getting international coverage, having appeared in at least two U.K. publications, The Indepenent and the The Daily Mail.
And let’s not overlook the coverage by the venerable AR15.com that headlined the story, Waitress Chews Out Customers Over Masks, Surprised She Got No Tip
