Former LM Star Jack Forrest Scores 15 In St. Joe’s Debut
Former Lower Merion Aces basketball star, Jack Forrest, came off the bench Thursday night (November 26) against Auburn, to score 15 points in his first appearance as a St. Joseph’s Hawk. After overcoming an 11 point deficit early in the second half, St. Joe’s lost the game in overtime, 96-91.
The new St. Joe’s Sophomore had to watch the entire overtime period from the bench, having fouled out at 1:17 in regulation time. Forrest clocked 20 minutes of game time before committing his fifth foul.
The game was played in Fort Myers, Florida as part of the Fort Myers Tip-off.
Last season, Forrest played as freshman year at Columbia. However, in April, he announced that he was transferring to St. Joe’s. At that time it was thought that Forrest would have been subject to the NCAA’s “Year in Residence Rule,” that would have forced him to sit out this season. But just this week, the NCAA issued a waiver which has enabled him to play this season.
At Lower Merion, Forrest led the Aces to three Central League titles, and he was named League MVP after the 2018-2019 season.
On Friday (November 27), Forrest led all St. Joe’s scorers, with 18 points in only 23 minutes. However, the Hawks lost to 6th Ranked Kansas, 94-72.
