In a recently released Facebook ad, Val Arkoosh “shakes the can” for her U.S. Senate campaign. She is currently the Chair of the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners.
In 2014 Arkoosh ran unsuccessfully in the Democratic Primary for U.S. Congress, in the 13th Congressional District. In that race she received 9,386 votes, after having spent $2,084,181 on her campaign.
$743,500 of the $2-million-and-change she spent, came from money that she personally lent to the campaign. According to the F.E.C., the full amount of the loan is still on the books of FRIENDS OF VAL ARKOOSH.
