The number of hospitalized cases of Covid-19 in Montgomery County has been rising steadily since July 4, when the county reported only 11 cases of the virus that required hospitalization. Today’s count of hospitalized Covid-19 cases is 96.
Although it would be very helpful to know how many of the 96 cases being reported today are breakthrough infections, versus unvaccinated patients, the county has not yet begun to provide that information.
At the municipal level, the county does not break down cases that are hospitalized versus those that are not. However, Lower Merion and Narberth are experiencing an increase in the total cases that tracks closely to the number of hospitalizations that the county is reporting.
