A planned media event this morning drew camera crews from a gaggle of local TV stations to the otherwise quiet intersection of Clairemont Road and Stone Ridge Lane, in Villanova. The event was organized by a group calling itself “Stop Deforestation of Lower Merion.”
This was all in anticipation of a Zoning Hearing Board meeting that had been scheduled for tonight, at which several of the neighbors who live near Clairemont and Stone Ridge had planned to ask the board to hear their objections to Lower Merion School District’s proposal to build playing fields at 1800 Montgomery Ave.
Those playing fields would be located adjacent to what has been for nearly 60 years, a dead end on Stone Ridge Lane.
At the event today, one of the members of “Stop Deforestation of Lower Merion” announced that tonight’s hearing had been postponed.
