On Tuesday (November 30), Lehigh County Judge, Edward Reibman, denied David Ritter’s appeal to not count 261 Mail-in ballots that arrived at the election board, un-dated. Ritter is a Republican candidate for Common Pleas Court in Lehigh County. He currently leads Democrat Zachary Cohen by 74 votes. However, if and when the 261 disputed mail ballots are counted, it is expected that Cohen will overtake Ritter’s lead.
Reibman, in his decision, said there is no apparent reason why the failure to place the date on the return envelope, or placing it on the wrong part of it, should disenfranchise 261 voters, it is not for this court to do so. The 261 mail-in ballots at issue must be counted.
Ritter’s attorney, Bob Daday, said that he would immediately appeal Reibman’s decision to the Commonwealth Court
