The Pittsburgh Post Gazette reported on Monday that –
Seema Lakdawala, who runs a lab studying virus transmission at Pitt’s School of Medicine, and Rebecca Nugent, a data and statistics professor at CMU, have been researching the impact of mask mandates at the state level since the beginning of the pandemic.
Their latest study, which began collecting data during delta’s summer spread, confirms that universal indoor mask mandates — which certain states put into effect in the summer — reduced COVID-19 case counts in the weeks after their implementation.
