Having lost 18 consecutive Central League football games by a combined score of 801-131, Harriton High School (with the league’s approval) has decided that the Rams will take a break from a full schedule of Central League games. The school’s athletic director, Shawn Albert wrote in an email –
Harriton Football was granted a two year exemption from the Central League. This exemption has given the program the opportunity to build an independent schedule to provide competition relative to our current number participants and experience levels. It is our hope this two year window will help build our program to a level that can compete respectfully with all Central League teams. At the conclusion of the two year cycle, Harriton football will return to a regular schedule of Central League teams.

If you’ve lost a son to the disease CTE you would cheer as we do for LESS football Repetitive impacts such as those received in practice and games are the known cause of this progressive degenerative disease. My stepson played through high school and college. Never a pro. He took his own life in 2014. Herschel Walker and OJ Simpson are the best living examples of the damaging effects of repetitive hits.
