Uproar Over Welsh Valley Trans Teacher’s Slide Deck

by Gerry November 21, 2022

Elana Fishbein, the world-famous Gladwyne mom who helped make CRT part of the American lexicon  (even though many of our most educated citizens would be challenged to define what CRT is), has branched out into another field of controversy – Transgenderism.

Conservative talk show host Dom Giordano interviewed Fishbein on his show on Monday (November 21).

Referring to Welsh Valley Middle School teacher Ben Beaman, who presented a slideshow to students that explained his own transition from a woman to a man, Fishbein told Giordano, “What we are facing here and all over the country is a very aggressive push by radicals to jam down the throat into the brains of our kids – an ideology that destroys their lives. They are completely changing the structure of society and destroying the family.”

The slides in question appeared as part of a video that was posted by Libs of Tik Tok in April, this year.

During the interview, Giordano challenged Fishbein, suggesting, “that’s what their parents want there [in Lower Merion]. That’s what this school board wants.” Fishbein responded by saying, “that’s a false claim that parents want that. Because if parents want that, why have they been fighting us tooth and nail not to disclose to the parents – what they are teaching the kids?

According to a Delaware Valley Journal article by Linda Stein that appeared on Friday (November 18), Fishbein’s group, No Left Turn filed a Right-to-Know request to see the lesson plans used by Beaman. Lower Merion School District refused to provide the requested materials, but LMSD was overruled by the state Office of Open Records. Then the school district sued to overturn the ruling.

The case was heard by Common Pleas Court Senior Judge Joseph A. Smyth (the same Judge who ruled against LMSD in the Arthur Wolk Lawsuit). According Delaware Valley Journal, “Smythe did not rule but instead took the case under advisement.”

Family Learning To Luge

Want to Try Luge? From Lower Merion, It Starts With a Drive to Lake Placid

I was watching the Luge on NBC over the weekend. I thought it was boring, especially when juxtaposed against the more dramatic events, like curling.  The color commentator kept explaining how each “slider” was doing something slightly better or worse than the others, but to my untrained eye, they all looked the same: feet first, […]

These Garments Have Been Politically Maligned

Most non-Arabs who wear the keffiyeh do not intend it to be Anti-Semitic in any way. They wear it as an expression of sympathy for Palestinian civilians, support for human rights, concern about war, or identification with a broader cause of national identity and self-determination. In their minds, it is directed toward Palestinians, not against […]

What Does My Fountain Pen Have In Common With The Former Lord & Taylor In Bala Cynwyd?

Both come out of the work of Raymond Loewy and his design firm. Raymond Loewy (1893–1986) helped define what modern America looked like in the mid-20th century. Through his design firm, he worked across an unusually wide range of industries—transportation, consumer products, branding, and architecture—often simultaneously. No one in history is more closely associated with […]

January 16-18: The Philly Pen Show — A Delightfully Analog Experience

f you’re looking for a break from screens, alerts, and endless scrolling, the Philly Pen Show might be the cure—at least temporarily. It’s an unapologetically analog event: pens, paper, ink, and the people who still care deeply about them. Whether you’re a serious collector, someone who misses the feel of writing by hand, or just […]
