Lisa Litman and her Adath Israel Players have taken Gilbert and Sullivan’s light opera, “The Mikado,”  staged it with a western motif, and mashed it all up with an orchestra pit filled with the Ruta Beggars, a bluegrass band out of Berklee College of Music, in Boston (these kids can play).

What might seem like a bizarre pairing of genres, becomes the wildly entertaining, East Coast premiere of  “Wild West Mikado.”
