LMSD Parents And Teachers Air Grievances About Re-Opening, Virtual Learning
Call for Safety, Transparency and Equity
A group of about 75 parents of Lower Merion School District (LMSD) students and a few LMSD teachers, staged a protest on Thursday (July 30), in front the district Administration building.
Jamie Bassman led the protest. She is the mother of two students who attend Lower Merion Schools. Bassman was interviewed by ABC-6 before the rally, and told them, “This district is not doing what it needs to do to be a community leader on these questions. Instead, the community is rising up and they are following.”
The Lower Merion School Board will be voting on a re-opening plan, on August 5. Director of School & Community Relations, Amy Buckman, told ABC-6 “They may vote to open schools for in-person instruction for all students, a hybrid model with different cohorts in schools in different days, or fully remote instruction to start the year.”
