Shae Ashe won re-election to the Norristown Area School Board, even though a week before Election Day (October 26) he resigned from that position. Ashe was named President of the Norristown School Board in 2018, at the age of 28.
On October 18, State Senator Amanda Cappelletti suspended Ashe from his position on her staff. He had been serving as her Director of Constituent Services.
Ashe came in last among the Democrats in the Norristown School Board Race, but his 4,957 votes were theortically enough for him to be re-elected.
Despite Ashe’s troubles, his margin of victory was comfortabe. Lisa Licwinko-Engleman, with with 3,937 votes, was the closest any of the Republicans came to unseating Ashe.
