We know WHO the leadership of the Democratic Party wants the rank and file members of the Montgomery County Democratic Commitee (MCDC) to endorse to run against State Senator Daylin Leach in the April 28 Primary.
Amanda Cappelletti is WHO they want MCDC members to endorse tomorrow night.
But what many committee members and other interested Democrats in this area cannot fathom is WHY?
Why is leadership pushing a 31-year-old recent law school graduate, whose experience, even if it is what she says it is, is not all that impressive; over several other candidates whose experience really is very impressive?
Last week at the Whitpain Challengers Forum, Cappelletti started off by telling the audience that “I am the Vice Chair of the East Norriton Board of Supervisors, and I am an attorney, with my Masters in Public Health.”
Whether or not she actually is an attorney, depends on your defintion of “attorney.” If you define “attorney” as someone who has graduated from law school, then Cappelletti, is within her rights to call herself an attorney. But if your definition of an attorney is someone who is or has actually worked as a lawyer – based on her Linkedin Profile, it does not appear that she has met that criteria.
Cappelletti then went on to say that she worked for a state representative, the ACLU, the Governor’s Office and Planned Parenthood.
On Monday, Phyllis Rubin, a Lower Merion/Narberth Committee Person, wrote on Facebook that “jobs Amanda says she’s held are internships she had as a student.” When pressed on that, Rubin wrote, “I personally spoke with Amanda, asking her about her resume, and other things. I stand by my post. I did not make anything up; I don’t do things like that. She held fellowships and internships until starting to work at Planned Parenthood last March, then she left in October — maybe that was a month more than half a year.”
Here are the Linkedin Profiles for all six of Daylin Leach’s challengers. Judge for yourself.
Well, Daylin’s tenure as a lawyer contains the claims from Cara Taylor that:
1) he pressured her into performing a sex act because her mother was a little short on paying him
2) he pressured her to give false testimony in her mother’s trial
So, there are different kinds of lawyers.
