A referendum in Kansas that would amend that state’s constitution to “affirm that there is no Kansas constitutional right to abortion or to require the government funding of abortion,” appears to be failing.
Republicans in the Pennsylvania Legislature have been advancing a similar amendment to the state constitution.
In Johnson County, Kansas, with 70% of the votes counted, the amendment is failing by 72%-28%. Joe Biden won Johnson County by 52.47%-44.54%.
In Ellis County, more than 95% of the votes have been counted. About 56% of the votes there are in favor of the amendment. In 2020 Donald Trump won carried Ellis County by 70.42%-26.97%.
