Rep. Chrissy Houlahan
Val Arkoosh is the only woman among the likely candidates in the Democratic Primary.
On Tuesday (June 8), Rep. Chrissy Houlihan put to rest any speculation that she might join the field of contenders seeking to become the Democratic Party’s nominee in the 2022 U.S. Senate Election. The seat currently held by Republican Pat Toomey is considered by several political analysts to be among the most “flippable” next year. Toomey has announced that he is not running for re-election.
Currently, the three leading candidates in the Democratic Primary are Montgomery County Commissioner, Val Arkoosh, State Representative Malcolm Kenyatta and Lt. Governor John Fetterman. Congressman Conor Lamb is also expected to join the race.
Q. As the only woman running against three men, does Arkoosh have an advantage?
A. It doesn’t hurt.
