At Wynnewood Road And Lancaster Ave – Don’t Call It An Abandoned Gas Station

by Gerry

The GIANT Company (the same company that owns the supermarket down the street from the former gas station) is the leaseholder for this property.

A spokesperson for The GIANT Company said in an email, “I can share that we remain committed to bring a fuel station to the community and continue to work closely with the township on our plans to do so.”

Re: the headline: “Don’t call it an abandoned gas station…”

Why shouldn’t we call it an abandoned gas station?
Is it actually a multimedia art installation?

After years, I’d say the exhibit has gone quite stale.

I would love to see a cool and funky diner open here. Love the one in Cape May!

What’s taking so long? It’s been this way forever. Why? It must be one of the busiest intersections in the township. Why did the original station close? How long can a property/eyesore sit like that before the township does something or forces the owner to do something?

Plus the gas at Sunoco across the street is the worst priced in the area for self serve.

Did you ask the unnamed Giant representative what timeline there was for site redevelopment?

Did you check with the township planning office to see if there were plans filed, permits issued, or ongoing discussions with any stakeholders?

Did you check with the property owner, whoever that may be, to see what the status is with development?

Did you check with the state environmental regulators to see what issues there may be, if any, with the site, including, but not limited to, pollution from buried tanks?

These are just some questions off the top of my head that I would think would be relevant if you wanted to write about this site.

They must not be trying too hard. It’s an eyesore and a disgrace.

It looks ugly. So many good changes have happened in the last 8 years. Only this place (gas station) remains terrible

Family Learning To Luge

Want to Try Luge? From Lower Merion, It Starts With a Drive to Lake Placid

I was watching the Luge on NBC over the weekend. I thought it was boring, especially when juxtaposed against the more dramatic events, like curling.  The color commentator kept explaining how each “slider” was doing something slightly better or worse than the others, but to my untrained eye, they all looked the same: feet first, […]
