Madeleine Dean Testimony
U.S. Rep. Madeleine Dean, (D, PA-4) who represents more than half of Lower Merion, testified at yesterday’s hearing. According to Briggs’ legislatative website, Dean said,” “America’s gun violence epidemic claims more than 100 lives every day, and our communities have had enough. They know that the safety of our families, friends and neighbors is on the line – and that it’s time to implement common-sense gun safety legislation,” Dean said. “It’s simple: these bills will save lives. Thank you to Representative Briggs and the Policy Committee for shedding light on these issues – and know that Democrats in Congress will continue to advance similar legislation.”
Yesterday Dean wrote a guest editorial in PoliticsPA in which she called for the Senate to take up H.R. 8, universal background check legislation, and H.R. 1112, closing the Charleston Loophole.
