The surge in the number of Montgomery County residents hospitalized with Covid-19, which began right after Thanksgiving, appears to have peaked.
On November 25, there were only 95 county residents hospitalized with Covid. By Christmas Day, there were 221. There were 369 on New Years Day. By January 8 there were 605 cases. On Wednesday (January 12), there were a record 638 county residents hospitalized with the virus.
The county reported today that the number had dropped to 596.
