On Wednesday (June 9), House Majority Leader Bryan Cutler (R, Lancaster) ordered Rep. Brian Sims’ (D, Philadelphia) Microphone cut off, and his comments stricken from the record.
The heated moment occurred when the House was debating HB-118, which the Republicans are calling the “Unborn Child Dignity Act.” The bill passed by a vote of 118-83. If and when the bill passes in the Senate, Governor Tom Wolf has promised to veto it. HB-118 is one of three bills recently introduced by Republican legislators known as “Heartbeat Bills.”
