Right now, Mehmet (Dr.) Oz is 1,241 votes ahead of David McCormick in the GOP race for U.S. Senate. That number hasn’t budged since last night.
But
Electoral-Map and Vote-Counting Guru, Steve Kornacki said this morning, that he thinks there are about 15,000 uncounted mail ballots.
According to Karnicki, the last batch of mail ballots that were counted, only favored McCormick by 7%.
If
There are 15,000 or fewer mail votes remaining to be counted,
and
McCormick’s advantage among the remaining mail votes continues to run at 7% or less.
Then
Oz will squeak out a win, probably by an even smaller margin than the 1,241 votes that he’s currently leading by.
And then there’s this
The Washington Post reported at 11:48 AM today that –
McCormick is winning more than 32 percent of mail ballots, while Oz is winning about 23 percent. So for every 1,000 mail ballots (overall, not just the ones counted Wednesday), McCormick is gaining a little more than 90 votes. At that rate, he would overtake Oz after about 13,000 more mail votes were tallied.
