GOP State Rep. Will Boycott Friend’s Medical Practice Over Mask Policy
State Representative Russ Diamond (R-Lebanon), in a February 11 Facebook post, described an unpleasant experience he had at a “medical service provider” that refused to allow him to enter their facility, because he was not wearing a mask.
Diamond made a point of calling attention to the Department of Health’s exceptions to the face covering requirement, which exempt individuals with certain medical conidtions from having to wear masks. What Diamond failed to call attention to was what, if any medical condition he might suffer from, that would require him to be exempted from the mask-wearing policy. Perhaps Diamond chose not disclose that information as a way of expressing his HIPPA rights.
Then again, The Lebanon Daily News reported in May of 2020 that, “Diamond said he does wear a mask in certain conditions, and doesn’t criticize anyone who does wear a mask.”
Perhaps the condition that Diamond suffers from that makes it a hardship for him to wear a mask, has worsened since May.
Diamond attached a copy of former Health Secretary Rachel Levine’s exceptions to the state’s mask policy, which does mention “mental health condition” as a possible reason for not wearing a mask in public.
