So there’s more to the story than just Eagles Center Jason Kelce strutting out of the locker room on Sunday, sporting an ill-fitting Lower Merion #33 Kobe Bryant jersey.

NBC Sports reports that Kelce and Kobe met in December of 2017, when the late Lower Merion Aces icon gave the Eagles a pep-talk before they played the Rams in Los Angeles. The Eagles won that game, 43-35; clinched the NFC East title, and lost quarterback Carson Wentz for the season.
According to The Athletic, Bryant spoke “at a team meeting around 10:30 a.m. on Dec. 8, 2017 at the Westin South Coast Plaza hotel in Costa Mesa, Calif., head coach Doug Pederson introduced a guest speaker.” ‘Kobe Bryant!’ Pederson said.”

EagleMaven, a feature of Sports Illustrated tells us that “Lower Merion is also where his wife, Kylie, coaches field hockey, so there is familiarity. One night, the Kelce’s were in a bar in Narberth, a small town within the Lower Merion school district, when Kelce saw Bryant’s high school jersey hanging on a wall.”
“The bar” where Jason Kelce saw Kobe’s Lower Merion Jersey – is Penn Valley Pub.
