LM Girls Are Central League Soccer Champs – Boys Share Title With Conestoga And Probably Radnor

by Gerry

LM Girls Soccer Champs

Lower Merion High School’s Girls Soccer Team are the 2022 champions of the Central League. Their only loss this season came at the hands (feet?) of Wissahickon, who beat them in a non-league game, 2-1.

With the exception of a tie with Conestoga, the Lower Merion Girls won all their league games this season. Conestoga also didn’t lose any league games this season, but Harriton also held them to a tie, enabling Lower Merion win sole possession of the championship.

Dynasty? This is Lower Merion’s third consecutive league title and third season in a row without a loss in league competition.

Lower Merion’s Boys’ Soccer Team got some help from Radnor, who beat Conestoga on Tuesday (October 18), 1-0. Having beaten Lower Merion earlier in the season, Conestoga only needed a tie with Radnor in order to win the Central League Championship. But as it turned out, Conestoga had to settle for a tie with Lower Merion and probably Radnor for the league title. If Radnor is able to beat Upper Darby on Thursday (October 20), that will give them a share of the Central League Title. Upper Darby is 1-10 in league competition this season.

I was watching the Luge on NBC over the weekend. I thought it was boring, especially when juxtaposed against the more dramatic events, like curling.  The color commentator kept explaining how each “slider” was doing something slightly better or worse than the others, but to my untrained eye, they all looked the same: feet first, […]

f you’re looking for a break from screens, alerts, and endless scrolling, the Philly Pen Show might be the cure—at least temporarily. It’s an unapologetically analog event: pens, paper, ink, and the people who still care deeply about them. Whether you’re a serious collector, someone who misses the feel of writing by hand, or just […]
