LM Grad, Gideon Glick, Will Be Back On Mrs. Maisel, Season Five, As Alfie The Magician

by Gerry

According to US Weekly, Lower Merion Graduate (2006), Gideon Glick, has “been spotted filming new scenes in NYC,” for Season Five of the Amazon.com series, “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel“- Amazon.com’s highest-rated show.

Glick appeared in six episodes of Season Four of the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning series, as Alfie the Magician.

Alfie Gideon Glick Mrs Maisel

Great scene, worth 2:44 of your time – even if you’ve never watched the show, and don’t plan to watch it.

Glick’s breakout role was in the Tony Award-winning, Broadway show, “Spring Awakening,” in which he played the part of Ernst in the original production.

After graduating from Lower Merion, Glick took time off from his studies (he eventually attended NYU and graduated from there) to perform in the orignal Broadway cast of “Spring Awakening.”

The New York Times, at that time wrote – Jonathan B. Wright [Hänschen], as a handsome blond seducer, and Gideon Glick, his easily persuaded prey, are standouts in their amusing homoerotic duet.

As a Junior at Lower Merion, Glick was written up in the Merionite for his part in the movie “One Last Thing.”

In 2019, Glick won a Tony Award nomination for his performance as Dill, in “To Kill a Mockingbird.”

The Los Angeles Times wrote – It seems odd that Jem’s role should be diminished while Dill’s is enlarged, but this might simply be because Glick is such an eccentrically mesmerizing performer

Family Learning To Luge

Want to Try Luge? From Lower Merion, It Starts With a Drive to Lake Placid

I was watching the Luge on NBC over the weekend. I thought it was boring, especially when juxtaposed against the more dramatic events, like curling.  The color commentator kept explaining how each “slider” was doing something slightly better or worse than the others, but to my untrained eye, they all looked the same: feet first, […]
