Lola’s Garden At Suburban Square, ‘A Really Interesting Project’
Chris Leswing began his presentation on October 14, to the the Building and Planning Committee of the Lower Merion Township Board of Commissioners (which is one and the same as the Board of Commissioners), by telling the committee that “this is a really interesting project.” Leswing is Director of Building and Planning for the township.
The interesting project that Leswing was referring to is Lola’s Garden, at Suburban Square. The plans for Lola’s call for a restaurant with 1,800 square feet of interior dining and bar space, plus (the interesting part) a 2,000 square feet four-season outdoor trellis.
The committee voted unanimously to approve a “waiver of land development” for Kimco Realty, the owners of Suburban Square.
Leswing explained that “there is some relief required for this, but it’s only relief from procedure. The applicant is seeking to have this process as a waiver of land development. With a waiver of land development there is no waiver from any township requirements.”
