Lower Merion And Narberth Voters Aren’t Sleeping Through Midterm Elections Anymore

by Gerry

Pennsylvania voters are following a national trend of more heavily in Midterm Elections.

In 2018, 58.2% of registered Pennsylvania voters cast ballots. That was up from only 42.4% in 2014. Total votes cast in Pennsylvania were 43.4% higher in 2018 than in 2014.

In Montgomery County, from 2014 to 2018, voter turnout increased by 46.2%

In Lower Merion, turnout increased by 44.0%, and in Narberth, it jumped by 41.4%

Turnout in Narberth was only .3% less in 2018 than it was for the 2012 Presidential Election.

Montco Voter Turnout

What to Expect Today?

Statewide, the 2018 vote was 83.1% of what it had been in 2016. In 2020, 799,999 were cast in the Presidential Election as compared to 2016. If the 2022 Midterm vote is 83.1% of what it was in 2020, we’ll see more than 5.7 million votes cast in this year’s election, which would be almost the same as it was in the Presidential Election of 2012.

f you’re looking for a break from screens, alerts, and endless scrolling, the Philly Pen Show might be the cure—at least temporarily. It’s an unapologetically analog event: pens, paper, ink, and the people who still care deeply about them. Whether you’re a serious collector, someone who misses the feel of writing by hand, or just […]
