Lower Merion GOP Letter Overlooks The Elephant In The Room
After urging their “fellow patriots” to join them at the rally (Be there. Will be wild!) – the rally that turned into an insurrection, in Washington D.C., on Wednesday (January 6); the leadership of the Republican Committee of Lower Merion Narberth (RCLMN) now wants everybody to know that they “are incredibly saddened and embarrassed by the attack on America.”
The RCLMN letter describes Wednesday’s violence as “a shameful ending to an otherwise peaceful day where many tens of thousands of people were simply excercising their free speech rights.”
The letter mentions some of the great challenges that America faces – Russia, China, Covid-19 and of course, “our flawed election processes.”
While noting that “we need to be part of reducing the national temperature,” there is no mention of the cult leader, on whose behalf they rode the bus to Washington on Wednesday – the same cult leader to whom at least some Republicans are now casting blame for the white hot national temperature that our local Republicans want to help reduce.
Perhaps the RCLMN didn’t mention him, because they were concerned about having their letter sound too incendiary.

Thank you Gerry Senker and Peter Goldberger for calling out the rot and hypocrisy in the GOP.

Three questions: How does a rally at which the featured speakers call for “combat” and “fighting” in defense of known false claims qualify as “completely peaceful”? In what way do the Rs’ claims our election process is “flawed”? Because it allows more people to vote than in the “good old days”? Third, what is the grave wrong that these peaceful rally-goers were protesting? That the candidate who received the larger number of votes was declared the winner of the election? And finally, a bonus question: how can not one member of this Committee know how to spell “Capitol” or “principles” or “sow”?
