Beyond/Hello opened Lower Merion’s first medical marijuana dispensary, on June 12. The store is loctated at 35 Cricket Avenue in Ardmore.
In addition to their Ardmore store, Beyond/Hello (according to their website) currently operates six other stores in Pennsylvania, and two in Illinois. However, Jushi Holdings, the parent company of Beyond/Hello, has temporarily closed its two Philadelphia locations (Northern Liberties and Center City).
In a statement that appeared in Cannabisbusinesstimes.com, Jushi Holdings chairman and CEO Jim Caccioppo said, “We fully support an individual’s right to freedom of speech and the touching peaceful demonstrations that we have seen around the country. We are heartbroken by the murder of George Floyd and the pain it is causing communities across the country that we not only work in, but live and love.
Unfortunately, certain opportunistic bad actors have at times manifested unacceptable behaviors. This past weekend, our Center City and Northern Liberties locations in Philadelphia were broken into, making it impossible for us to safely operate. In addition to these two temporary store closures, we have limited our hours at certain locations in Pennsylvania and Illinois…
As committed members of the cannabis movement, we will also continue to fight for equality and work to overturn racially biased laws that ruin lives and unequally target disenfranchised communities and people of color.”
About the Ardmore store, Caccioppo said in a press release that appears on Jushi Holdings website, “The opening of BEYOND / HELLO™ Ardmore upholds our commitment to expand access to life-changing treatments for Pennsylvania medical marijuana patients,” said Jim Cacioppo, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Jushi. “While our Center City and Northern Liberties dispensaries in Philadelphia are temporarily closed for repairs, our new Ardmore location will help us meet the needs of new and existing patients throughout the Greater Delaware Valley. We look forward to expanding access for patients, reopening our Philadelphia storefronts, as well as opening up more dispensaries in strategic markets across the Commonwealth.”
A doctor can prescribe Medical Marijuana if a patient exhibits any one of 23 condidtions which are listed on the Beyond/Hello Website. It should be noted that “anxiety disorders” is the second condition that’s listed (they’re alphabetical). With three months of Covid-19 Isolation under our belts and the end not even close to being clearly visible, one has to wonder what percentage of the population would not qualify for a medical marijuana prescription.
