Members Of Haverford College Cross Country Team Escaped Covid, In Wyoming
It took almost five months for Wyomingnews.com to catch up to the “big story,” that last semester, 11 members of the Haverford College cross country team, had relocated to Casper Wyoming.
Haverfordclerk.com reported last September, that a large contingent of the squad was staying at their teammate Nico Tripeny’s grandfather’s home in Casper, Wyoming.
Team member Matt Katz told Haverfordclerk, “Aside from running, there have been other activities and adventures: namely, exciting visits to Wall Drug and a Domino’s Pizza.
“We were on this road for 350 miles and every mile there would be an advertisement for a place called Wall Drug. At the end, we stopped in this town called Wall and found a place called Wall Drug. It’s really something. It was the highlight of the trip,”
Wyomingnews noted that, “While they expected to train and explore the Mountain West together, they didn’t expect to become community members and form tight bonds through family dinners, employment and enrolling at Casper College … Because of the pandemic, they couldn’t explore the city to its full potential. However, they were able to expand their cooking skills and explore the backcountry.”
