Without opposition, Todd Sinai was elected by his fellow members to be the new President of the Lower Merion Township Board of Commissioners.
Sinai represents the 12th Ward in Merion. He was first elected in 2017 and re-elected in 2021. In both 2017 and 2021, Sinai ran unopposed in the Democratic Primary and in the general election.
For his “day job” he is the David B. Ford Professor, Professor of Real Estate and Business Economics and Public Policy of the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. Sinai is also Chairman of Wharton’s Real Estate Department.
He earned a B.A. from Yale in 1992 in Economics and Mathematics, and a PhD from M.I.T. in 1997 in Economics.
