Montgomery County officials told KYW that the county’s positivity rate for Covid-19, were the lowest since the pandemic began in March. The positivity rate is calculated by dividing the number of tests by the number of positive cases.
KYW spoke with Montco Commissioner Val Arkoosh. She said that social gatherings continue to be the leading spread of Covid-19. Arkoosh also spoke about her concern that virus is spreading through youth sports activities, althought she acknowledged that “there doesn’t appear to be transmission on the field.” Her concern was more with “social gatherings before and after games, and maybe locker rooms.”
