Montco Dems – ‘No Recording Of Our Contentious Endorsement Meeting.’
One might think that the day after the Inquirer ran a story alleging a serious lack of transparency by the leadership of the Montgomery County Democratic Committee (MCDC) – that committee leaders might want to take advantage of an opportunity to demonstrate that they really are transparent and have nothing to hide. If one thought that, one would be wrong.

One might also think that an organization with the word democratic in its name would not prohibit the recording of a meeting that would likely determine who will govern a county of more than 860,000 citizens. If one thought that, one might be wrong about that too.
And one also might suppose that an organization like MCDC, which holds itself up as a fierce defender of lofty ideals, might not want to prohibit the filming of an important event like the endorsement convention, even if it technically qualifies as a private meeting –
A private meeting with 500+ participants held in a public school that is partially funded by all the taxpayers in Pennsylvania.
If one supposed that, one would be wrong about that as well.
The Colonial School District does not provide free space for outside groups to meet. Taxpayers did not pay for use of the space. The convention was open to the press, but no video or voice recordings are allowed.
