Montco GOP Appears To Acknowledge Biden Presidency

It looks like Liz Havey and the rest of the leadership of the Montgomery County Republican Committee (MCRC) aren’t even trying to get invited to get invited to have lunch at the White House. Notwithstanding the fact that the thumbnail photo of their Tweet last Friday (December 18) reveals four MAGA hats (take your choice, red or white), the New York Post commentary (by Glenn Reynolds) that it links to, leads with the following:
Democrats won the election [emphasis added], but they don’t seem very happy about it. And with reason: The election failed in its main purpose, which was to shut down the Deplorables.
The rest of the Post article is an unconvincing attempt at a pep talk for downtrodden Republicans, reminding the faithful that Mikhail Kutuzov, the Russian general who administered a crushing defeat to Napoleon, did so by realizing that as long as he kept his army intact, he didn’t have to win flashy victories. And he eventually ground Napoleon’s forces down to a nub. Likewise, so long as the Deplorables don’t give up in their opposition, they can’t really be defeated. By staying motivated, the Deplorables can become the Unconquerables.
What’s telling about the article, and MCRC’s decision to link to it, besides the obvious “Democrats won” acknowledgement, is that it sort of pays homage to the “we was robbed sentiment” that so many Trump voters are clinging to, without necesarily embracing it. Reynolds writes, For an election to really take, the losers have to admit that they’ve been beaten. And to admit that they’ve been beaten, they have to think they actually lost fair and square. Not many Trump supporters think that.
Nice try, but if you’re not calling for martial law and demanding a second Trump term, why are you even bothering?

In the days following the election, MCRC was regularly tweeting and re-tweeting articles about election fraud and voting irregularities. But the last time they posted anything that explicitly claimed that there was election fraud, was a November 28 re-post of a Kathy Barnette video (she was the losing candidate in the 4th District Congressional Race, vs. Madeleine Dean) in which Barnette claimed that “several hundred dead people” and more than 500 “foreigners” voted illegally in Montgomery County. Since then, Barnette has ignored numerous requests to show any documentation that might support her allegations.
