Montco GOP Mum On Trump Claim Of 78,000 Phantom Vote

by Gerry

It’s not every day of the week that a former president of the United States mentions Montgomery County, PA in a letter to the Wall Street Journal.

And because that former president happens to be a Republican who is claiming that “A canvass of Montgomery County has identified 78,000 phantom voters, with roughly 30% of respondents unaware that there are people registered and voting from their address.” – Wouldn’t you expect that the Montgomery County County Republican Committee  (MCRC)  would have something to say about that?

Trump Liz Havey Phantom Votes

Since Trump made his claim about 78,000 phantom voters, on Wednesday (October 27), MCRC, through their account @MontcoPaGOP, has tweeted 11 times.

Included among @MontcoPAGop’s most recent are:

  • Three Tweets that mention Joe Biden.
  • FourTweets urging voters to knock on doors
  • A tweet about Bill DiBlasio trying to expunge the Trump name in New York
  • A tweet about the state senate’s  Election Investigation (they seemed to have stopped calling it an Audit)
  • A Tweet about the Abington School Board
  • There is even a Re-tweet of a post by the son of the former president.

Liz Havey, Montgomery County Republican Committee Chair – Did not respond to an email requesting comment on Trump’s claim of 78,000 phantom votes in Montco. She has not commented publicly about it, anywhere.

I was watching the Luge on NBC over the weekend. I thought it was boring, especially when juxtaposed against the more dramatic events, like curling.  The color commentator kept explaining how each “slider” was doing something slightly better or worse than the others, but to my untrained eye, they all looked the same: feet first, […]

f you’re looking for a break from screens, alerts, and endless scrolling, the Philly Pen Show might be the cure—at least temporarily. It’s an unapologetically analog event: pens, paper, ink, and the people who still care deeply about them. Whether you’re a serious collector, someone who misses the feel of writing by hand, or just […]
