Narberth Mayor Got Far More Votes Than Fetterman In Braddock

by Gerry

Almost every ad you see for John Fetterman’s Senate campaign mentions the success he had as Mayor of Braddock, Pennsylvania.

There’s no doubt that Fetterman was a dedicated public servant, and worked tirelessly to bring positive results to his adopted town of Braddock, but maybe we should put his success there in perspective.

Fetterman received 286 votes when he first ran for Mayor of Braddock, in 2005. He didn’t do quite as well in 2009, when collected 229 votes. And in 2013, Fetterman only got 189 votes.

Narberth vs Braddock

Compare that to Mayor Andrea Deutsch, who in 2021 was re-elected Mayor of the burgeoning metropolis of Narberth. Deutsch received 1,253 votes. That would be 4.38 times as many votes as were cast for Fetterman.

The population of Braddock as of 2020 was 1,885. Narberth’s population in the same year was 4,304.

This data is only useful if you disclose what the votes were proportionally.

I was only trying to show how small Braddock is by comparing it to tiny Narberth, which dwarfs Braddock. I apologize for the lack of clarity, but I was not trying to suggest that Andrea Deutsch was a better “vote-getter” than Fetterman.

Populations DOOOOO vary….you are aware of that correct?

I am quite aware that populations vary. My point, which I apologize for not making very clear, was that tiny Narberth actually dwarfs minute Braddock.

Family Learning To Luge

Want to Try Luge? From Lower Merion, It Starts With a Drive to Lake Placid

I was watching the Luge on NBC over the weekend. I thought it was boring, especially when juxtaposed against the more dramatic events, like curling.  The color commentator kept explaining how each “slider” was doing something slightly better or worse than the others, but to my untrained eye, they all looked the same: feet first, […]

It’s an unapologetically analog event: pens, paper, ink, and the people who still care deeply about them. Whether you’re a serious collector, someone who misses the feel of writing by hand, or just […]
