Penn Medicine Says He Nervous About LMSD In-Person Classes
Dr. Michael Cirigliano, an internist affiliated with Penn Medicine, talked with Fox29 about Lower Merion School District’s (LMSD) decision to return to in-class instruction. Cirigliano said, “this decision is not without risk … I would love for everyone to get back to school, but as we are finding, kids can transmit the virus. And the big achilles heel with all of this, is that they can be asymptomatic. In Lower Merion they’ve said they’re going to really work hard to mitigate the risk of transmission of this virus. They’re going to screen kids for symptoms. Well, a lot of kids don’t have symptoms if they have it. They’re going to wear masks – that’s good. The problem is we’re having trouble just looking a colleges reopening. Time will tell. I’m a little nervous about this – gotta be honest with you.”
