Penn State Football Hasn’t Beaten Villanova Since 1935

State Will Host ‘Nova This Year, On September 25

Nittany Lions And Wildcats In First Matchup Since 1951. Penn State Will Try To End 3-Game Losing Streak Vs. Mainliners.

This coming September 25, the on-again-off-again football rivarly between Penn State and Villanova will resume. The game will be played at Beaver Stadium, in Happy Valley. Kickoff time is 1:00 PM.

The two schools haven’t faced off since October 6, 1951. Villanova won game, played at Allentown High School Stadium, by a score of 20-14.

Penn State holds a 5-3-1 edge in the series, which dates back to 1902. The Nittany Lions’ unbeaten run against Villanova ended after the Wildcats defeated them in the 1936 game, 13-0. The two schools didn’t play again until 1949, when Villavova scored a surprisingly lopsided 27-6 win.
