Wolf: No You Weren’t
Disregarding Governor Tom Wolf’s recommendation, the PIAA announced that Fall Sports teams will start practicing on August 24.
On August 7, Dr. Robert Lombardi, executive director of the PIAA told reporters that his organization felt blindsided by Governor Tom Wolf’s recommendation to delay fall sports until January, 2021.
Wolf pushed back against that claim this week. On Friday (August 21), PennLive.com reported that “Gov. Tom Wolf’s office said PIAA Executive Director Robert Lombardi mischaracterized the communications between the state’s high school athletic association and the governor’s office when he said Aug. 7 that he was ‘blindsided’ by Wolf’s recommendation that there be no high school sports until 2021.
