On Monday night (12/9/2019) The Lower Merion Planning Commission saw two tentative sketch plans that could have a dramatic impact on the area between City Line and St. Asaph’s Road. Both plans were from the same developer, Bala Plaza Property Inc.
Bala Plaza Property is a part of Tishman Speyer.
According to Tishman Speyer’s website, the company has an “international workforce [that] operates from 18 regional offices supported by over 100 property and project offices on 5 continents across the globe.”
One member of the township’s Planning Division staff described this as “the biggest plan she had ever seen.”
Altogether the project calls for 11 new buildings with a mix of office, residential, retail, hotel and structured parking. It also includes 755 new residential units, 3,370 new parking spaces and an additional 1.3 million square feet of office space
