Tristan Szapary became the National Collegiate Epee Fencing Champion on Sunday (March 24) when he defeated Notre Dame’s Jonathan Hamilton-Meikle 15-14 in the final bout of the NCAA tournament at Ohio State in Columbus, Ohio.
Szapary is a senior at Princeton, and hails from Wynnewood. He graduated from Friends Central Shool in 2020.

When he’s not winning fencing championships (according to his LinkedIn profile), Szapry is “pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience, and is interested in a future career in medicine and research, with a focus on neuroscience, immunotherapeutics, and narrative medicine.”
