“Gladwyne’s River Road might not be one of Lower Merion’s busiest roadways, but because of traffic apps, it’s quickly becoming a bypass for drivers trying to avoid a section of the Schuylkill Expressway,” according to Rich Ilgenfritz, writing in Main Line Media News, last month. He reported that “at a recent township meeting, members of the Lower Merion Board of Commissioners passed a motion directing staff to begin working on traffic-calming on River Road.” The decision came as a result of residents on River Road coming forward and asking the township to do something about the traffic.

 

In an email yesterday, Commissioner Josh Grimes (D-Ward 2, Gladywye) said, “At a recent township meeting, members of the Lower Merion Board of Commissioners passed a motion directing staff to begin working on traffic-calming on River Road.
