On Wednesday night (December 8), despite a request by St. Joseph’s University’s most generous donor to cancel the game, the Penn Quakers came to 54th and City Line and lost an exciting game to the St.Joe’s Hawks – 78-71, at the Hagan Arena. Adding insult to injury (at least in the eyes of some), as they usually do, most of the Penn basketball team sat through the playing of the National Anthem.
As they’ve been doing all season, most of @PennMBB sits for the national anthem. A few (only a few) fans got really upset about it. “Are you triggered?” One younger fan asks an older gentleman.

Meanwhile, two women held up signs that said “Take a Knee, Stand with Penn.”
Last week, billionaire mega-donor, James Maguire, sent a letter to St. Joe’s President, Mark Reed, asking him (not demanding – mind you) to cancel the game with Penn.
