Former President Donald Trump’s plans to participate in a July 4 Celebration at Battleship Park in Mobile, Alabama have been nixed.
According to TheHill.com, “USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park commission chairman Bill Tunnell told the NBC News affiliate that the Republican party contacted them worried about the patriotic event turning into a ‘partisan political event’ instead.”
Tunnell made reference to a 2012 that Rick Santorum held at Battleship Park when he was campaigning to the presidency in 2012. According to Alabam.com Tunnell said, “Rick Santorum was the straw that broke the camel’s back. And that’s when the commission went to the no partisan politics open to the public.”
