A “notice” in the Philadelphia Times (this would be the late 19th century version of “a sponsored post”) offers a free ride on the Pennsylvania Rail Road, from Broad Street Station to Elm Station (in what we now call Narberth, Pennsylvania).
At Narberth Park, you could see “the finest improvements ever made in Suburban property.”
Narberth Park was located “directly at Elm Station and is the most charming spot within a radius of 100 miles of Philadelphia. Avenues are open, graded and macadamized from curb to curb, the lots are terraced and the pavements are of stone.”
The train station called “Elm Station” was built in 1870. The incorporation of the Borough of Narberth won Court Approval on January 21, 1895.
