In an interview with ABC-27’s (Harrisburg) Dennis Owens that was aired on Friday (December 17), Tom Wolf said, “My role is to either sign or veto whatever the General Assembly sends me.”
Wolf confirmed what Owens suggested, that the governor wasn’t really engaging with them “saying we don’t like this, we don’t like that” – that governor was just waiting until the legislature sent him something. Wolf said, “I don’t think this is a negotiation.”
GOP House spokesman, Jason Gottesman, was unimpressed with Wolf’s so-called hands-off approach. He said, “I think the Tom Wolf of 2021 needs to meet the Tom Wolf of 2018, who submitted his own maps.” Gottesman added, “Not engaging with the legislature is classic Tom Wolf.”
