Kobe Bryant made his varsity debut on December 11, 1992. The Aces were  hosting Haverford School, in the first round of the Lower Merion Tip-off Tournament. The 14-year-old Bryant, dropped 18 points on their Interacademic League opponents, in a losing cause.

The following night however, the future All-Intergalactic star pitched in 19 points to help Lower Merion win in the consolation game, against Upper Dublin. The Aces were led that night by Matt Snider, who scored 21 points. Snider went on to have a little career in the NFL.

Kobe's First LM Game

After their win over Upper Dublin, the Aces only managed to win three more games over the course of the entire 1992-1993 (4-20).

However, when Kobe was a senior, during the 1995-1996 season,  Lower Merion was 30-3 – including a win against Erie Cathedral Prep, on March 23, 1996 –  for the PIAA AAAA Championship.
