The intense heat and humidity that the fans at Narberth Playground had to put up with yesterday, was easily matched by the intensity of the two teams on the field who stubbornly forced the game between the Narberth Outsiders and Marple-Newtown to go three extra innings.
Narberth now has two adult men’s baseball teams.
Last season the Outsiders, who play in the Mid County League, joined the Mudcats, who represent the Borough in the Delco League.
In Sunday’s game (June 27), Alec Andrews pitched five gritty innings in relief and notched the win after Danny Gabor hit a lead-off 10th-inning triple (a full game is seven innings) and Gabor scored after Jake Rosenberg smoked a drive to center field that landed in Hymie’s parking lot.
