The county does not track the vaccination statuses of hospitalized Covid patients.
Just slightly more than three weeks have passed since Thanksgiving, but over those 24 days, the number of Montgomery County residents hospitalized because of Covid-19 has risen from 95 to 216.
In response to an email, Kelly Cofrancisco, Director of Communications for Montgomery County, said that the county does not track the vaccination statuses of hospitalized Covid patients, “without looking up the cases manually.” She suggested that the State Department of Health might have that information.
However, a spokesperson for the Pennsylvania Department of Health said that only statewide data is a available.
According to the website of the Pennsylvania Department of Health, for the 34 days ending December 6 – the estimated incidence of Covid hospitalizations for fully vaccinated patients was 35 per/100,000, compared to 154 per/100,000 for unvaccinated patients.
