The Lower Merion High School basketball team was supposed to play the undefeated, defending State Champions – Reading High School, tonight in Wilmington, DE. But due to an outbreak of COVID-19 among players on the Lower Merion team, all team activities are suspended through winter break.
This has to be a huge disappointment for the Aces who are 3-1 this season (their one loss was against Parkland, when their big man, Demetrius Lilley was sidelined with a back injury).
In March, Reading won the PIAA Championship in a one-point game against Arch Bishop Wood. The Aces came close to getting a shot at Reading. In the semi-finals Lower Merion was unable to hold onto an 8-point lead, and lost to Wood (they were ranked 9th, Nationally) 72-68.
